About this book
Readers of the Yellow Stringer, a national tabloid, tend to dismiss its lurid headlines as invented, from a demon baby delivered at an Iowa hospital to a ghost troubling cheerleaders in a small West Virginia town. The paper's reporters know those stories are true, and they chase them despite the risks.
Naomi, a promising graduate of Columbia Journalism School, and Tony, a former police officer, are the paper's reporters. Both have survived traumatic run-ins with monsters, and both now devote themselves to documenting monstrous crimes. Their backgrounds and methods differ, but they share a determination to expose the supernatural, even if no one ever believes them. The volume rated OT (Older Teen) and recommended for readers aged 16 and up.
In this volume, the pair confront a unique take on the headless horseman, along with the undead, cursed artifacts, and more. Just as they think they have seen every kind of horror, a series of cases starts to connect to trauma that only they have experienced, and they press on to uncover the truth.
The book is part of Saturday AM TANKS, a graphic novel line modeled on Japanese tankobon volumes that collects work from the Saturday AM comics, known for manga-inspired stories by global artists and creators. Each volume includes select color pages, revised artwork, and post-credit scenes, highlighting BIPOC, LGBTQ, and culturally diverse characters. Other titles in the line are Apple Black, Clock Striker, Gunhild, Hammer, Henshin!, The Massively Multiplayer World of Ghosts, Oblivion Rouge, Saigami, Soul Beat, Titan King, and Underground.
