Yes & No

Yes & No is a picture book about a cat and a puppy who share their days. It opens with a cheerful wake-up call, and then follows the pair through the good moments, like being fed and running through the grass, and the disappointments, like days that end too soon and plans that go wrong.

The story touches on friendship, seeing things from a different point of view, and the pleasures and frustrations of having a sibling. By the end the two animals discover that the best thing that can happen on any day is simply being together.

The book is by Elisha Cooper, an author and illustrator who has received a Caldecott Honor.
