Zorrie

Zorrie loses both her parents and then her aunt, and is left to face the harsh realities of rural Indiana during the Depression. She drifts westward, getting by on odd jobs, until she finds work at a radium processing plant.

When Indiana draws her back, she finds in and around the small town of Hillisburg the love and sense of community that have always escaped her. But her troubles are far from over.
