One day, a teacher gave a student a new pencil.

The student began writing right away because he was thrilled.

The pencil shattered a few days later, though.

"It's no longer useful," the student remarked before tossing it in the garbage.

"Why did you throw it away?" the teacher asked as she picked it up.

"Because it's broken," the student retorted.

After sharpening the pencil, the teacher returned it with a grin.

"Look," she remarked. "Even though it wasn't finished, it was shattered."

The student resumed writing.

After a few weeks, the pencil was reduced in size due to frequent sharpening.

"It's nearly gone now," the student stated.

The teacher answered:

"The pencil became useful again every time you thought it was finished. The same holds for life. You could be defeated, rejected, or harmed. But those moments might help you develop."

The student understood.

Morality

You're not done if you fail.

Every error may teach you something.

Every hardship can fortify you.

Every obstacle might help you get ready for something better.

Don't give up on yourself just because life has knocked you down. Continue to write your story and stand back up.
