It was an autumn evening that everyone cherished.

The cool breeze on everyone's faces was so satisfying. As usual, children came back from school, people returned from work, and everyone was enjoying the pleasant evening.

Geetha came home from school, completed her homework, and sat outside enjoying the weather. As time progressed, nothing changed. The evening remained the same.

Geetha looked at the sky and asked her father, "Daddy, why isn't it getting dark?"

Her father smiled and replied, "Even I am wondering the same, dear. Let's wait and see."

At first, everyone was excited. They thought something wonderful was happening before their eyes. Some enjoyed it, some were confused, and some were simply watching the sky with curiosity.

But as more time passed, excitement slowly turned into fear. People started thinking it was the beginning of a disaster. Scientists began researching the reason behind it, and every news channel was discussing the strange change.

Geetha again asked her mother, "Where are the stars? Where is the moon?"

Her mother smiled gently and said, "Nature has a unique way of teaching us lessons. Let's wait. Time will answer everything."

She simply thought about her favourite sunflower and quietly nodded her head. It had been too long since she had seen her favorite flower. Days passed, but the sky still refused to change.

Geetha asked her dad, "What did you miss the most?"

He was like, "I never thought I would miss my warm afternoon for cricket," he said longingly.

He quietly put away his cricket bat because there was no warm afternoon anymore.

People slowly started missing everything they once ignored... the sunrise, the sunset, the moon, the stars, rainy days, hot afternoons, cold mornings, and even darkness. They never thought they would miss these ordinary things so much.

The sky was so stubborn with its behavior, but it seriously changed the stubbornness in everyone's heart. People had enough time to analyze themselves. Love, hate, jealousy, guilt, and gratitude all came to the surface. Maybe it was because of fear, but people started appreciating life, their loved ones, and nature.

Nature is a mother to all of us. It has a unique way of teaching lessons. The moment humanity stopped appreciating the little things, nature reminded them of their value.

The sky refused to change, but it changed humanity. Everyone finally understood that life is beautiful because it keeps changing.

Geetha looked at the sky and quietly said, “Mom, I never knew I would miss the stars this much.”

Her mom smiled and said, “That's how life is, Geetha. We understand the value of change only when it stops. It is the loss that teaches us how precious the moments are.”

The more grateful we are, the more beautifully we live.

The sky never changed that day. But for the first time in centuries, humanity did.
